It's Skyline Time!

Question is: When is it not Skyline Time? Lucky for us, we live a half mile down the street from (what we consider the flagship) Skyline in Clifton. Yes, the Skyline that is open until 4 am; the one that is impossible to get a table between midnight and 2:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays; the one that you can spot Sarah Jessica Parker with Matthew Broderick, Nick Lache, and other local celebrities; the one that has the most kick to their chili. As Cliftonites, we feel our Skyline is superior. And Skyline is superior to Goldstar. Why? Because Skyline chili is first and foremost gluten free! They are very aware of allergens.

What is Skyline Chili? That's not chili! That's right - it's Greek spaghetti meat sauce. Skyline is the closest to what my Greek mother-in-law makes. Ala Cincinnati style with lots of customization options. Surprisingly enough there is something for everyone on their menu: for my purist Greek husband - the simple chili spaghetti and a chili coney; for our dear King of Clifton, Marcus, classic cheese coneys; and one of my favorite gluten free options - 5 way potato, which is just as good without the giant heap of finely shredded cheddar cheese. My other GF favorite is the coney bowl - 3 dogs in a bowl of chili and topped with a pile of cheese. Wow, I need a good long walk up and down the hills in Clifton after a meal like that. They have salads, burritos, kiddie options, even good vegetarian dishes. Skyline aims to please. Don't forget to pick up a York Peppermint Patty while at cashier, which is a perfect finish to the meal or going to Graeter's down the street.

  1. The other day I heard Christopher Kimball of America's Test Kitchen mention that whenever he visits Cincinnati he gets a 5-way at the Skyline in Clifton.

I have no idea why he would be in Cincinnati but that's what he said.
